How am I feeling today?: ecstatic
I miss all of you!!!
I really do!!
Facebook has eaten my soul, as has school and everything...
A lot of stuff has happened. I mean, a LOT of stuff.

I lets see....
I got a job at a local Animal Hospital in the Kennels. I've been working there for about say, 4 or 5 months now, and I'm pulling th emoney in and saving up for a trip to China this April. Right now, we have a chinese exchange student staying with us, her name is Ting Ting. She is so awesome- she doesn't say no to any foods, she's always eager to do anything and laern new words in english.

I got my license this summer, therefore granting me more freedom- I did some house sitting for a friend of mine, and became really good friends with a kid in my dads band. we're really tight now- Charley plays sousa in dad's band. I'm really worried about him, though, he has a lot of thigs on his mind all the time. I really want the best for him, but Karma doesn't seem to be doing him much good.

My car's muffler is shot.... the car is really obnoxious and loud to drive now....

We got 15 chickens, one of them we recently discovered to be a rooster. anyone interested in having a pet rooster? I want to keep him, but my dad promised the neighbors that they wouldn't hear crowing.

I'm enrolled in a Veterinary class in school, it takes up 3 periods of my day but it's well worth it. I'm trying to keep my grades up, but so much has been going on lately that I've been getting really stressed. I've taken to meditation for about a half hour every night, and it really helps.

My parents bought a company recently, (the closing was today) so things have been hectic with that.

I have my first boyfriend as of yesterday :D his name is Kenny, he goes to Salem High and is in my dads band.... he says he's alright with dating me and having my dad as a teacher. He also plays the trumpet... hopefully I'll see him tomorrow and we can hang out during the weekend... I really hope this goes well :)

odd. funny how we are trying to find out more about space when we don't even know everything about our own planet.

I like my new classes, my teachers are nice and entertaining(as in, not boring) but I like them a lot better than freshman year. My geometry teacher is kind of monotone, but we are only doing standardized tests right now. Blech.

German is doing well, I have a lot more translating to do, and its only the first week.

Health is AWESOME, the teacher is supah funny (and sarcastic) and there are a lot of ppl I know in the class, so its entertaining.

World History is.... all freshmen. and a couple of juniors. But Mr. Tag isn't as bad as everyone says, he is actually quite reasonable and funny.

Chorus is okay, but on the first day the new teacher gave us a really hard gospel-like peice. she knows how to make ppl listen, though, which is good but not for the people who say "OMG Chorus is like, totally SOCIAL HOUR! WOO-HOO!" I hate those people.

English is fun. good discussions and work, and awesome people in the class.

Half Study is boring. and hot.

Lunch, I eat with Kyle, Adam, Lucas, Maddie, Ben, random kid, Adam, Katie, Alicia, and Marie. sick lunch. new freinds. its all good.

and Biology is, so far, good. I like the teacher, the work is really easy, and, best of all, I can relate to the subjects. Animals, Plants, the world, good stuff. :)

We saw the Salm band show today, it was Salem vs. Timberlane, and Salem won (when I left) 40-10. I cant wait for the Pinkerton vs. Salem game. fun stuff.

the band show was good, for August, colorguard could use some work but otherwise awesome. it also was good considering that they re-wrote the drill in one week and rehearsed it.

all for now. I made freinds with a german who is living in a town close by, and have been emailing him for a long time :)
hope I can post again soon. school....

How am I feeling today?: creative
I had a dream that I was Harry Potter and for some reason I had turned into "the Griffindor Fountain" and I couldnt talk or anything but I had eyes and I could trap ppl I didnt like inside me, and Ron figured out it was me and kept hugging me....

it was kind of cool becuase all the while it was narrated in JK Rowlings style.... I have dreams like that where it is nothing but talking, or me reading a book, and all of the words make sense but then I wake up and I dont remember them...

except the only thing I remember from this dream was " Harry reached up to his face, and his hands touched a rouch surface in the shape of a cross. Soon he could not move his arms at all, they were locked to his sides. He had turned into the Griffindor Fountain!" I dont know where It was going to end up, but I might have a lead for a story there :)

The Part of You That No One Sees

You are compassionate, caring, and soothing.
You like other people to depend on you...
In fact, you don't feel right unless you are helping someone out.

Underneath it all, you feel the burden of everyone's problems.
Without your guidance, you fear that many people's worlds would fall apart.
You like to feel in charge, even if it brings you a lot of stress.
What's the Part of You That No One Sees?

its right, I bouth a TON of presents over here, that is why half of my money was gone in the first week O.o

ok

soo havent been able to update lately, I have been running around Deutschland too much.

I know next friday  we are going to Czechloslovakia (or however that is spelled) and then the wednesday after that I am going hoooome! :) yay  I have had an awesome time here, and it went by all too fast, and still is, but I miss everyone ( specially puppy :))

I am reading Harry Potter for the third time in two weeks and finished it for thw first time last monday morning. I'm going to miss it :(

I hope I can fit everything in my suitcase and not go over the weight limit, other wise I may have to put some stuff in my backpack with me on the plane :o and I am also down to my last 100 dollars, but with a little over a week left, and if I dont buy too much, it should be ok.. my mom did give it to me to spend, and how many times am I going to be in europe?

We went to Luxembourg and France a couple days ago, but only for about an hour in each. so 4 countries in one trip :)

O, and berlin was amazing, but it was scorching hot and the hotel was really crappy. I dont know if I already said that, and I am too lazy to go and check :)

BERLIN WAS AWESOME!!

I had so much fun. I wanna go again.

I had soo much Eis (ice cream, WAAAY better than ours at home) my favorite kind being Erdbeer (strawberry) and my favorite dish being Spaghetti Eis. you know those playdough things where you squish the playdough through little holes and it comes out like spaghetti? well, picture doing that with vanilla ice cream, underneath the ice cream is frozen whipped cream, and all of it is topped off with strawberry sauce (the tomato sauce) and tiny peices of white chocoalte ( the parmesan, if you will) served with a sprig of basil on the side, which you obviously dont eat. mmmmmmmmmm soo good. the food here is soo good.

I wnat to go to berlin again, it was a lot of fun.

and the hotel:

bugs squished on the ceiling (didnt know how it happened at first, but we soon found out when there was a mosquito in the room, Luise took a magazine and jumped on the bed and squished it up there, lol!)

no shampoo

the soap in the bathroom was pump soap, but USED. there was hair sticking to it and it was wet. the pump didnt work, so I just opened the top.

Tiny tiny bathroom- the shower didnt have much of a dip in the floor, and there was really nothing to keep the water inside the shower, so the whole floor got wet. I put towels around the base of the shower, and somehow water still splashed onto the floor >:(

one very dim ceiling light, and two reading lights above the beds.

The remote control for the tv didnt work

there was a WINDOW into the bathroom, it was a little fogged but if you went up close to it, you could see straight into the br.

COCKROACHES

really flat pillows taht hurt your neck if you attempt to sleep on them

NO AIR CONDITIONING!! and it was REALLY HOT in berlin!

Overall, the only good thing about the hotel was the breakfast.

Rules:
1. Leave a comment saying "interview me," or words to that effect.
2. I will give you five questions.
3. You post the answers, and these instructions, in your own Livejournal.

Five questions from [info]jadedgeneration

1. What is your favourite animal to own as a pet, and why?
Hermit crabs. they are fairly easy to take care of, they dont need too much attention, ande they can pretty much look after themselves. I would like a bird though, because they are a challenge :)

2. When you leave home, where would you most like to move to?
Somewhere there is a lot of animals and wildlife, where I can get a job to work with exotic animals and such. :)

3. How would you describe or explain your religious beliefs?
I am a Lutheran, so its pretty much that Jesus was born, what he preached about, he died on the cross, he was risen, and now he watches over us with God.  Also that God created the earth and the whole story behind that :)

4. What is your favourite book?
hmmm.... I like Harry Potter, and Warriors the best, sot hose two series win :)

5. Where is the strangest place you ever fell asleep?
Idk...... on a bus? ummm..... I guess in (german) math class. I fell asleep without realizing, and I woke up and was all like "omgwtf where am I ?!?!?"

I went to town today!! :)

Posted on 2007.06.20 at 16:32
So First I went toschool with Kristin, I stayed for her religion class and then went to town for a couple hours. I walked around all of the buildings, just to get my setting and how to get back to the school. I went to this shop calles Kinderlande or something and looked around for a bit. then I went to a magic shop and got something, but I cant say on here, as it would spoil a surprise :)

I went around a bit more and didnt really do anything, except I did go into a shoe store, then walked out after realizing tha I didnt know my european shoe size. I got Ice cream and then waited at Ballplatz for Kristin, taking pics of the school as I went. I went to math with Kristin which was extremely broring, and then met Cathrin at the tree in Ballplatz.

We went to get my Fußball t shirt, a national team one, and then Cathrin and I went to get it screened. I got "Deutschland" on the corner in the front, with 19 underneath and on the back "Shneider" and 19. I love it!!

While we waited for the shirt to get screened, we went to a restauraunt and I pretty much had ice cream for lunch. but now I am very hungry.

I love the outcome of my shirt, I am wearing it right now.

Kristin is leaving for Australia tomorrow, and I wont see her again for the whole summer! :( It was nice to see her and spend time with her when I could :)

More tomorrow when stuff is happening again. :)

How am I feeling today?: good
Hi again-

I went ti school with Cathrin today- only English and French, so I got to stay home later. They were reading and listening to Macbeth in English, and the teacher kept asking me to describe words, like withered and snigger. She was very impressed when I said`"shriveled" when I was describing withered. then I had to describe shriveled. I didnt mind so much- she was nice and she didnt stare me down or take notes. ;)

I went to the store with Elisabeth this morning- there she bought me a chocolate egg with a small duck inside :) it was very cute. The grocery stores were all in one small mall-like place, there was a bakery, a store of anything (like a dollar store) thata had fresh fruit, and there was a regular grocery store where you could get food and supplies and such. so that was neat.

After school, I had to catch a bus, which was easy enough, but then I had to watch very closely for my stop.I knew it had a ubs sign in front of it and there was a storage place. so I got off at the first storage place and sterted down the road. right away I realized i had gotten off too soon. :o so I looked down the road and saw the second storage place, and I just walked down there. I found the house, but it took me forever and a day just to unlock the front door :(

So now I am here. I made it through the city. You know I made it through. Didn't know how lost i was until I found the house! lol

So yesterday when Elisabeth and I took cathrin and Kristin to their music lessons, we walked around the city. (I cant remember which, but it is a neighboring city to Mainz) There we saw the worlds largest cukoo clock, although I didnt get to see it chime, and we got ice cream. We also saw one of the hot springs, which, even though it was fairly hot out, was steaming. So i had a good time and Elisabeth taught me some german words :)

nothing else going on here, so I'll write more tomorrow or tonight. And I just figured out that as I am typing this, german words are popping into mein koph... I mean, my head....

This is an email i sent to mom, and i didnt bother to change it....:

tell dad I said happy fathers day, although it will be tomorrow for you when you get this...

Im glad you worked in the gardens, but feel better and dont overdo it nxt time!

I gave the family their presents. They seemed to like them:) Elisabeth hung the ornament in the window of the kitchen and the withc ball in the music room, and they loved the sugar cookies. Thankfully neither Kristin or Kathrin had the movies I gave them, so It was not a problem. they appriciated the fans from China as well. :)

When I gave Kristin her lobster shorts, she kind of groaned and then laughed, saying "your mom...."

I took pictures of the house like you asked, even teh stairs and the backyard. Today I had more bratwurst with curry and ketchup, home made fries, and this type of cherry-chocolate cake. And for dinner, fresh cherries and johanesbeeren (some sort of berry) aaaaaaand chewey bread. with ham. mmmm... ooh breakfast was good too-fresh fruit and the kind of egg that you crack open with and eieurfne i think its called and ate it right out of the shell with salt- REALLY GOOD!!!

I finally figured out the doors and how to open them- you have to turn the key a certain way and you know how I am with unlocking things :)

On Sunday the Görlitzes plan to pick me up because there is a festival in town- sammi went to it- it is called Johannesfest- the festival of John Gutenberg.

I will write more tomorrow- I will be going to school with Kathrin and we will exchange my money and get things I need after school.

Day one and Two

How am I feeling today?: jetlag....
Hey everybody!

Iäm safe in Germany and having a great time. I miss you all and wish I could tell you this in person.

First of all, the german keyboard is very different so don,t mind me if I screw up, like now. The Y replaces the Z and there are keys moved around. Althought it is only my first full day in germany, I am beginning to get the hang of speaking.

Yesterday, I had a hard time leaving my family. they were all standing at the gate waving, and I was there, alone bawling my eyes out. I felt bad cus I was making my mom cry, too. :(  Once I was sitting next to the gate though I calmed down and was allright. I got on the plane safely and got my seat rather early. I was sitting next to a man going to France, so we talked for a while. I slept for a bit until the stewardess had her arm reaching acriss me serving dinner (at 12 am at home, remember) and it really was not that bad for airplane food, but then again I was really hungry.

I got off the plane okay but once I was in Reykjavik (or whatever) I kind of panicked. I saw taht my flight was at 7:24 and I looked at my clock on my Ipod and it said 7:48. I had not even gotten my boarding pass because non one was at the service desk. then I looked at the time on the flight board and it said 6: 48. stupid me. it must be daylight savings time or something. So I got my boarding pass in the service desk UPSTAIRS and got on safely. The ride started out horrible because I was in a seat right next to the door and it was freezing, me in capris and a short sleeved shirt. then the couple next to me moved, so I had three seats to myself.

There was a couple behind me, and it was really interesting because one spoke german all the time ans the other one always spoke english, but they were still having a conversation. I talked to them a bit and they showed me where to get my bags and where to get out of baggaage claim. Whoo.

So now I am here, there is a festival going on at the church and I should go soon. the food is AMAZING. The church service- I didn#t understawnd a word. it was all german, and a little bit of french. I did not do some of the things Kathrin did, but I did take communion. (they are Catholic, btw) The church is very big, the seats were kind of uncomfortable, but it had a lot of stained glass and was very pretty. I have been at the festival all day, and I still have jetlag, so Iäm trying to have caffine once in a while. Iäm getting used to speaking german, and I have some form of communication with people. either I talk to them or I say "Das tut mir lei, ich spreche kein Deutsch." (I#m sorry, but I speak little german.)

I ll write more tomorrow!
